Anouk is a multidisciplinary artists who’s practise sits at the intersection of craft, design and digital technology. She employs several artistic disciplines, integrating multiple mediums and techniques ranging from Haute Couture Draping, Surface Textile and Fibre Manipulations, Textile Embroidery, Millinery and Digital Design.
Anouk approaches her art with the romanticism and luxury of drape, juxtaposed against the modernity of architectural sculpting. She delve into the examination of shape and texture, weaving contrasting elements between fragility and strength, tradition and modernity as they create a tension between technique and materiality. Each piece created has been an experimental evolution of historic traditions, pushing the boundaries of practice and innovation in her disciplines.
Anouk is currently engaged in art and academic research projects that explores the intersection of craft and technology while redesigning heritage techniques and methodology through the eyes of a digital lens. The aim is to re-code the relationship between digital and hand making, encouraging the hybridizations of traditional craft and computing.
